EAU CLAIRE, Wis. –– Question: Is it possible to have the words “fun” and “mammogram” in the same sentence?
Answer: Yes — at Spa Night offered from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at Luther Midelfort’s HERS Breast Center, 1400 Bellinger St. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Women are invited to gather friends or family for some relaxing spa treatments and at the same time receive a mammogram. Insurance will be billed for the mammogram cost. Free spa extras include:
• Chair massage
• Hand paraffin wax treatment
• Sweet treats
• Surprises
“By offering women a chance to be pampered and enjoy time with friends while they are taking care of their health, Spa Night actually combines fun and mammograms,” said Terri Soley, mammography supervisor at Luther Midelfort’s HERS Breast Center.
All participants must be at least 38 years old and not have had a mammogram for at least a year. Any participants who have had a mammogram before, but not at HERS, are asked to have those mammogram images sent to HERS. Groups of three to 12 are accepted. Space is limited.
When registering, be prepared to give the names, phone numbers and dates of birth of all the people in the group. Call HERS at 715-838-3628. Spa Night will be offered again in April, so names will be put on a waiting list if this session is full.
Recently designated as the only Breast Imaging Center of Excellence in west-central Wisconsin by the American College of Radiology, Luther Midelfort’s HERS Breast Center is accredited in stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound, ultrasound-guided biopsy and mammography.
