Luther Midelfort and Red Cedar Medical Center — part of Mayo Health System — are recognizing extraordinary service through the second annual Mayo Health System Service Excellence Awards.
These awards, distributed at events across Mayo Health System (MHS) on June 10, are presented to the system’s highest performing healthcare facilities, sites, specialties and providers.
Awards are based on patient satisfaction survey results — tracked by Press Ganey surveys — using criteria established by the MHS Service Excellence Committee. Awards were presented to those scoring in the 90th percentile or better when comparing MHS results to results from other healthcare facilities in the nation.
“We are fortunate to have talented staff that provide excellent service to every patient every time,” said Dr. Randall Linton, Luther Midelfort president and chief executive officer.
“When someone provides excellent service consistently, people do notice,” said Steve Lindberg, Red Cedar Medical Center chief administrative officer. “Recognizing staff with these Mayo Health System Awards is significant and is a great accomplishment for those being honored.”
Four award levels were presented: “Platinum” for MHS facilities, specialties and providers scoring in the 99th percentile in patient satisfaction; “Gold” for the 95th to 98th percentile; “Silver” for the 90th to 94th percentile; and “Burgundy” for those with a statistically significant improvement in patient satisfaction from 2009 compared with 2008.
Mayo Health System set a goal for all providers, specialties and locations to achieve patient satisfaction scores in the 90th percentile or higher. In all, Mayo Health System will present awards to five facilities, 17 sites, 17 specialties, 10 units and 25 providers.
