EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Luther Midelfort’s echocardiography and stress testing are moving.
As of Monday, Jan. 18, outpatient echocardiography and stress testing will relocate from the first floor of the hospital to the third floor of the Luther Campus clinic, 1400 Bellinger St.
This location already is home to other outpatient Cardiac Center services. The shared and renovated space will enhance communication among Luther Midelfort’s heart healthcare providers, including:
• Cardiology
• Cardiovascular surgery
• Cardiac rehabilitation
• Cardiac diagnostic services — EKG, echocardiography, stress testing
Registration and parking: Patients coming to Luther Midelfort in Eau Claire for outpatient Cardiac Center appointments should use the main clinic entrance and park in the clinic parking lot on Bellinger Street. Patients should check in on third floor of the clinic without need to stop at first floor registration.
Note: This applies to all outpatient echocardiography and stress testing except stress tests with nuclear imaging. Registration for nuclear imaging is in Radiology on the first floor of the clinic. Parking is available in the clinic parking lot on Bellinger Street.
An echocardiogram uses sound waves to produce images of your heart. This common test allows your doctor to see how your heart is beating and pumping blood. Your doctor can use the images from an echocardiogram to identify various abnormalities in the heart muscle and valves.
A stress test is used to gather information about how well your heart works during physical activity. Because exercise makes your heart pump harder and faster than it does during most daily activities, a stress test can reveal problems within your heart that might not be noticeable otherwise.
