EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Do you want to quit smoking or using smoke-less tobacco? You can start a healthy new year. Luther Midelfort regularly offers Tobacco Free classes throughout the area. The next eight-week sessions will be at:
• Eau Claire: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays, beginning Jan. 11, Luther Midelfort dialysis conference room, fifth floor, 1221 Whipple St. Free parking in ramp.
• Rice Lake: 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Jan. 12, Luther Midelfort Northland conference room, 331 S. Main St.
Each session will include information and group discussions. Topics include: why you smoke, cues to smoking, psychological and physical dependence on smoking, strategies to quit and stay quit, gaining support from family and friends, positive thinking, relapse prevention and management, smoking cessation aids, goal setting and rewards.
For those uncomfortable in a group setting, Luther Midelfort also offers individual Tobacco Free sessions. Luther Midelfort also will provide on-site Tobacco Free programs at businesses.
