EAU CLAIRE, Wis. –– Luther Midelfort’s public vaccination clinic for both seasonal and H1N1 influenza continues Friday and will be extended through next week. No appointments are necessary; walk-ins are welcome at:
Luther Midelfort – Clairemont Campus, 733 W. Clairemont Ave.
• Friday, Dec. 4, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Monday through Thursday, Dec. 7 to 10, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Friday, Dec. 11, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Seasonal influenza vaccine: Available to anyone 6 months or older.
H1N1 influenza vaccine: Luther Midelfort follows state health department and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines to vaccinate target groups most at risk for complications. The target groups are:
• Pregnant women
• Families and caregivers of infants younger than 6 months (Parents, siblings, daycare providers)
• Persons ages 6 months through 24 years old
• Persons age 25 through 64 years old with chronic medical conditions (Asthma, diabetes, heart disease, etc.)
Note: Children under 10 years old will need two H1N1 flu vaccines. The second would be given at least four weeks from the date of the first one.
Both seasonal and H1N1 vaccine are offered pending vaccine availability.
